I was driving when the warning light on the dashboard suddenly came on. I couldn’t figure out what it meant. I had to stop the car and search on my phone to make sure there was no major problem before I could continue driving.
Have you ever encountered the above problems? Then let’s take a look at what the various indicator lights on the car dashboard mean.
The indicator lights on the car dashboard are divided into three categories: indication, warning and fault.
The first category is the most common indicator lights we use when driving, such as signal lights, turn signals, parking lights , etc. Their function is to indicate the status of various functions of the vehicle.
The second type is warning lights, which have warning functions, such as fuel indicator lights, door status indicator lights, seat belt indicator lights, etc. Generally, warning lights go out after the driver takes corresponding actions, such as the seat belt indicator light. When we fasten our seat belts, the seat belt indicator light goes out.
The third category is the fault indicator light , which is also the most important indicator light, such as the generator fault indicator light, ABS fault indicator light, transmission fault indicator light, etc. Generally, these fault indicators rarely light up, or when starting the engine, they light up for a while and then go out. If the fault indicator light is always on and accompanied by a warning sound, it means that the vehicle has a fault or abnormality. Never underestimate the fault indicator light. If you ignore it, it is very likely to damage the vehicle and seriously endanger driving safety. If the fault indicator light is always on, it needs to be repaired immediately.
